Supersonic Festival 2022 – A Preview

Fighting Boredom have, over the years, been to a fair few festivals. From one day events in the stifling back rooms of pubs to watching bands on the Pyramid stage in a sun baked field. Yet there is one festival that took us by suprise and shook us to our core. I was stunned by the music, the variety and the sheer volume of music I didn’t know about. It led to me reviewing and ultimately to the setting up of Fighting Boredom. Supersonic Festival in Digbeth Birmingham is the home of extraordinary music and the audience that continually seeks it out. It’s a swirling mix of off centre performers and art. It boasts the most eclectic line ups I know of in a festival of it’s size and is for me simply the best festival of the moment I could wish to go to.

This year, after two years of lockdown, announcements, cancellations and much online activity Supersonic is back as a three day festival again. Once more in Digbeth and anticipation is running high. The line up reflects what I said before. From The Bug featuring Flowdan to Bunuel, from Divide and Dissolve to Matters, in fact just stick a pin in the lineup and it’ll be an excellent choice of band to see. There are returning artists. Artists in new bands and projects and new to the festival acts. Did I mention the samosas?I really should have.

Anyway, here’s the line up
