Supersonic Festival 2017 – Preview

supersonicSupersonic Festival 2017

16th – 18th June

A Fighting Boredom Preview

Everything that Fighting Boredom love about music is captured by Capsule’s Supersonic Festival. In fact you could truthfully say that this website wouldn’t exist without the spark of inspiration that we got at our first Supersonic Festival when we discovered just how broad the scope of music that we had missed was. We have never failed to come away from the festival without a new favourite band and a bunch of records and cds to check out. It encapsulates the essence of people wanting to experience new and interesting sounds and really is the best festival of the year in our calendars.

The festival takes place on the 16th to the 18th of June in a range of venues in Digbeth, Birmingham. The lineup has been announced and as ever is a mixture of old favourites like the wonderful Melt Banana and new projects like the intriguing Zonal which brings together Justin K Broadrick and Kevin Martin.
There are a limited number of day tickets available now as well as whole weekend tickets.
There is an opening concert at Birmingham Town Hall by Anna Von Hausswolff. Other acts announced that Fighting Boredom are particulary looking forward to are the aforementioned Melt Banana, Oxbow’s one off performance with a choir. Nicholas Bullen’s performance sounds unmissable and Jenny Hval sounds unmissaable.
Also announced is the Kids Gig with Melt Banana on Saturday afternoon.
