Velvoir – Jackboot – single review

Velvoir – Jackboot

DL

Out Now

Velvoir introduced themselves to fighting boredom as a trans-fronted, Art rock/psychedelic band from Newcastle upon Tyne”. Their Bandcamp page describes them as “Grooving Cynicism & Sophisticated Filth”. Both descriptions work well for us.

Their  EP from 2015 is a slice of brilliant sleaze, sex and attitude. This is their first release since then, read what we thought below.

What you get is spiky frantic music, guitars up and down and a funked out bass line with a full on fast beat, but the singing is what this record is all about, dramatic and striking. Rough and at the end and slipping into hysterical screaming. A band that fighting boredom would love to see play live.
The whole feel is of a post-punk for right now sound. A great single and cool as you like.

You can get Jackboot from the Velvoir bandcamp page, they are also on Facebook and Tweet as @Velvoir
